League Ages 6 – 7
Players league age 6 and 7 are eligible to participate. This is the entry level of softball featuring Coach pitch and an 11” soft compression softball. A hitting tee will not be used. There is no Player pitching according to Little League International Rules. No post-season games at this level.
League Ages 8 – 9 (10)
Players league age 8, and 9 are eligible for AA softball. 10 year old players who have never played or are deemed to be a safety liability on the field may play at this level. AA Softball is a slightly modified version of the AAA program. This is a development entry level division and features Coach and Player pitch and uses an 11” soft softball. Tryouts are required for all players. A league year-end tournament may be played at this level.
League Ages (9) 10 – 11 (12)
Players league age (9), 10, and 11 are eligible for AAA softball. 12 year old players who have never played or are deemed to be a safety liability on the field may participate at this level. Tryouts are required for all players. AAA softball is a stepping stone to the Major Division. In order to prepare players for the Major Division this is a Player Pitch only Division. Players use an 11” hard softball. 12 year old players may not pitch in AAA softball. A Tournament of Champions is held at the end of the season for all league champions. In addition, an All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of the top players selected from all AAA teams in our league. The All-Star team at this level may advance to the State Softball Championship only.
League Ages (10) 11 – 12
Players league age (10), 11, and 12 are eligible for Major softball. It is played with a 12” hard softball. Tryouts are required for all players. Teams can play against Majors teams within District 4, including Clayton, Martinez, Antioch, and Pinole. A Tournament of Champions is held at the end of the season for all league champions. An All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of top players selected from the Major teams in our league. The All-Star team may advance to the Little League Softball World Series level.
League Ages 12 – 14
Players league age 12-14 are eligible for Juniors softball.
League Ages 13 - 16
Players league age 13 to 16 are eligible to play Senior softball. It is played with a 12” hard softball. Teams play against Senior teams within District 4, including Clayton, Martinez, Antioch, and Pinole. A Tournament of Champions is held at the end of the season for all league champions. An All-Star team will be formed at the end of the season consisting of top players selected from the Senior teams in our league. The All-Star team may advance to the Senior League Softball World Series level.
